I usually prefer cash. If i want to put something on a gift-card, then I can chose which gift card I put it on and how much.

Cash. You can only buy certain things from certain stores with gift cards.

Well... If I get a gift card, it could stay in my wallet for years and I'd have never touched it in that amount of time. I would probably notice it in my wallet, but still wouldn't even bother getting it out. Where if it was cash, it wouldn't be in my wallet for less than a week...
